One walk, no destinationUn paseo, sin destino

A person walking outdoors

Movement advice often arrives as a programme. A walk does not need one. It needs a door and twenty minutes.

No pace. No podcast required. The street is the practice.

Leave from the same door

Same time if you can, same shoes by the door if you cannot. The friction is the enemy, not your fitness. If the shoes are already there, you are halfway out.

A loop, not an errand

An errand is useful and it is not a walk. Pick a loop you can finish even if you are tired: around the block, to the end of the street and back, once around the park.

One day without headphones

Keep the podcast if it gets you out. Once a week, leave it. Notice the temperature, the shops, the hour. A walk that is only transport for audio is still a walk. It is just a thinner one.

Come back before you negotiate

Twenty minutes is the agreement. If you want more, take more. Do not stand in the hallway deciding whether today counts. Open the door.
